Hail Gamers!
Well, with less than 2 weeks to go til the big event.. I am totally-pumped about seeing you all at the venue, and getting some serious game-focus in..
The programme is filling-out quite well, though there are still quite a number of seats available.. notably..
FRIDAY NIGHT 7pm:
Xia: Legends of a Drift System
Players fly their ships about the system, completing a variety of missions, exploring new sectors and battling other ships. Navigating hazardous environments, players choose to mine, salvage, or trade valuable cargo. Captains vie with each other for Titles, riches, and most importantly Fame.
The Settlers of Catan
Players try to be the dominant force on the island of Catan by building settlements, cities, and roads. Each turn dice are rolled to determine what resources the island produces. Players collect these resources (cards)—wood, grain, brick, sheep, or stone—to build up their civilizations to get to 10 victory points and win the game. The game is competitive, but players must usually trade resources with each other to win.

SATURDAY 9am:
Castles of Burgundy
Each player takes on the role of an aristocrat, originally controlling a small princedom. While playing they aim to build settlements and powerful castles, practice trade along the river, exploit silver mines, and use the knowledge of travelers.
Pandemic
Fight the diseases, cure the sick, seek a cure all the while the diseases become more virulent and threaten to overwhelm you and the world!
SATURDAY 8pm:
Arkham Horror
Ancient Ones lurk in the emptiness beyond space and time, writhing at the gates between worlds. These gates have begun to open and must be closed before the Ancient Ones make our world their ruined domination.
Only a handful of investigators stand against the Arkham Horror.

So, if you have a spare slot in your schedule, or you know someone out there who is looking to come along and play some amazing games, then please ask them to register or contact me if they have any questions about the event or the sessions being hosted..
Remember that Game Fest Brisbane's hosts are new-player friendly, and it doesn't take any experience to play our games..
Part of the idea of Game Fest was to bring Gamers together and to introduce new players to the hobby!
Yours in Gaming,
Mark McPherson
